The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Tokyo serves as the official diplomatic and consular representative of Indonesia in Japan, with concurrent accreditation to the Federated States of Micronesia. As a vital hub for international relations, the Embassy is dedicated to fostering robust partnerships between Indonesia, Japan, and the Federated States of Micronesia. To further support our mission in the Economic Section, we are currently seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team as a Local Staff member.
## Role Overview and Objectives
The selected candidate will work within the Economic Function, contributing to the enhancement of bilateral economic cooperation. This position is open to both Indonesian and Japanese nationals who possess the necessary expertise and a deep interest in diplomatic economic affairs. The Embassy is committed to collaborating with talented individuals who align with our values and regulatory standards.
## Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Age Range: Between 25 and 40 years old.
* Legal Status: Must hold a valid residence permit and work authorization in Japan (students and interns are ineligible).
* Education: A Bachelor’s degree (S1) is required. Preferred fields include Economics, Development Economics, Business/Management, International Trade, International Relations, Economic Law, or Statistics.
* Language Proficiency:
* Indonesian Applicants: Minimum N2 Japanese proficiency verified by a certificate.
* Japanese Applicants: Proficiency in Indonesian and English, verified by certificates or an interview assessment.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and design tools like Canva.
* Driving License: Must possess a valid Japanese driver’s license.
* Professional Conduct: No criminal record; evidence of good standing is required.
* Conflict of Interest: No existing conflict of interest with current staff at the Embassy (including familial or marital relations).
* Experience: Previous experience in government, international organizations, chambers of commerce, or economic research is considered a significant asset.
